daniel — software engineer

C++ by trade, Java by new assignment. Based in Gothenburg, Sweden.

SYNOPSIS

daniel [--cpp] [--java] [--homelab]
       [--forecast probability] problem ...

DESCRIPTION

I'm a senior software engineer with a long background in modern C++. I care about code that is fast, correct, and easy for the next person to read. These days I'm also maintaining a Java product, which has turned out to be a good excuse to compare how two ecosystems solve the same problems.

Outside work I build small tools for things I actually use: bet sizing for prediction markets, a private resume matcher that runs on a local model, and the server this page is coming from.

PROJECTS

kellybratedJavaScript ยท HTML

A Kelly criterion bet-size calculator for Manifold Markets, built as a lightweight replacement for the broken manifol.io. It recommends the bet that maximizes expected log wealth, and accounts for market liquidity, your existing position, loans, and a fractional-Kelly factor. It can place the bet for you, and it also ships as userscripts for Manifold and Polymarket.

resume_matcherPython

A local, private resume-to-job matcher. Drop job postings and a folder of resumes on it, and point it at a LLM API (local or remote). The web version runs in the browser against a model on gibson's GPU; resumes are parsed client-side and never uploaded.

tarl.ovhself-hosted

This site. It's a single static page served from gibson, a TrueNAS SCALE box at home.
